Is it the sole responsibility of businesses to take charge of the problems pertaining to global food wastage?

My Opinion

I do not believe it is the sole responsibility of purposeful businesses to take actions on global food wastage although some businesses may contribute enormously to promoting global food security.
I believe that the problems of global food wastage and food insecurity should be a matter of concern to all world leaders, presidents, stakeholders of nations, and individuals worldwide.

I am of the view that the issue of food wastage and food insecurity should be addressed with keen, pragmatic policies that will effectively manage food wastage and food distribution in a sustainable way to all global consumers. Therefore, our global focus should be on developing appropriate measures and policies to be implemented to prevent and reduce food wastage through proper education of people on the production of wholesome food, food storage and preservation as well as on what they truly need rather than eating for the sake of it.

I believe that the tons of food that goes waste throughout the food production chain may have several underlying etiologies that needs to be identified and addressed equally.
Hence, if these etiologies of food wastage are over looked we can only imagine the percentage of global food produced that will go waste as the problems of food wastage and food insecurity compound by 2050 when the world population had doubled.

As we work towards achieving a global reduction in food wastage, promote food security and sustainable agriculture, we should therefore not have the tendency to abandon the issues of food wastage to only purposeful companies that are expected to strive well in future to their economic benefit but rather we ought to encourage and push forward appropriate measure to ensure proper food distribution globally, reduce food wastage as well as take stances towards GMO companies receding sustainable agriculture and increasing public health problems globally.

We ought to bring ideas on board as we work together as individuals, Nations and the world at large to eradicate famine at certain part of the world with the aim of promoting food security globally.
